When people ask what makes Project Z Academy special, the answer is simple: the people. Our parkour classes in Salford are built around encouragement, inclusivity, and a genuine love for movement, and the feedback we receive from our community reflects that every day.
From first-time movers to long-term athletes, here’s what our members and families consistently tell us about training parkour with us.
Kids Love It (And They Keep Coming Back)
One of the strongest signs that something is working? Kids choosing to stick with it year after year.
Freddie is a perfect example. He joined Project Z nearly four years ago in our Mini Movers classes and has grown alongside the academy — progressing through our kids’ sessions and now training in our Movement Masters classes with his sister and dad.
What stands out in feedback like Freddie’s is the variety. Parkour never feels repetitive. Each session introduces new challenges, new movements, and new ways to explore the space. That variety keeps kids excited, engaged, and motivated while quietly building strength, agility, and confidence along the way.

Autism and ADHD Friendly — Where Kids Can Truly Thrive

Many families come to us after struggling to find activities that work for their child in traditional sports or educational settings.
Parents like Katie and Josie describe how their children, who often found other environments overwhelming or unsuitable, were finally able to thrive in our parkour classes. That’s not by accident.
At Project Z Academy, we take time to understand each individual:
We adapt activities to different needs and energy levels
We prioritise safety, patience, and clear communication
We focus on progress, not pressure
For many neurodivergent kids, parkour offers freedom, autonomy, and problem-solving, without the rigid expectations of conventional sports. Families regularly tell us it’s worth travelling across Manchester to train with us in Salford, because the environment is genuinely inclusive and supportive.
Building a Lasting Love for Sport
Some of our proudest stories come from families who’ve been part of Project Z for years.

Grace and Nikola’s families have been attending for 8 and 6 years respectively, watching their children grow not just in physical ability, but in confidence, creativity, and enthusiasm for movement. Parkour becomes more than a class, it becomes their thing.
We also love seeing what happens when that passion comes full circle. Oscar joined as a student, trained consistently for seven years, and now gives back to the community as a volunteer coach. That kind of journey speaks volumes about the culture we work hard to create.

From Parties to Passion
For some families, parkour starts as something “a bit different”.

Louise first discovered Project Z through a parkour birthday party, and that single experience sparked years of training for all three of her sons. What started as a one-off event turned into a long-term passion, with her eldest now volunteering as a trainee coach.
It’s a story we hear often: kids come for the fun, stay for the challenge, and grow with the community.
Fun and Development for the Whole Family
Parkour at Project Z isn’t just for kids.
Sanjai trains alongside his son and daughter, and as they’ve grown older, they’ve been able to attend classes together, supporting each other through challenges and celebrating progress as a family.
Our parkour classes in Salford welcome all abilities and ages, with adaptable challenges that work whether you’re new to movement or looking to push yourself further. Families often tell us it’s one of the best decisions they’ve made for both physical and mental wellbeing.
